Superior installation
I obtained bids for vinyl retrofit windows from 5 different companies. Design Windows and Doors competed on price but what sold me is the way they install retrofit sliding door units, which are very heavy. They remove the entire original aluminum frame and then install the new unit, the end result being slightly larger doors/glass area and the unit is more soundly anchored. I'm in a condo project and was concerned about stucco damage. What little there was is completely covered by the new retrofit unit regardless, just as they had assured me when I signed the contract. The drywall interior (at the sliding door unit) was trimmed out with attractive new wood moulding. I'm very happy with the entire job and have referred them to friends and neighbors.
